On the 22nd of April 2021, MUEES hosted a “Meet the Academics” event in collaboration with the UniMelb Water Group (Environmental Engineering Department). Taking place at the new Melbourne Connect building, the event was a great opportunity for students, lecturers and tutors to meet and chat in a casual setting. The event was well attended with around 40 academics, research fellows and students coming together over cupcakes.
Since the majority of classes are still being held online, many of the students who attended expressed how excited they were to be able meet their lecturers, tutors and classmates in-person. The event was buzzing with conversation, thus sparking new connections within the environmental engineering community at UniMelb. As the aim of the event was to promote staff-student engagement, we’d definitely agree that it was a success and we hope to run more events like this in the future!
