In the second last week of semester, on the 20th of May 2021, MUEES hosted an end of semester coffee catch-up. This was hosted at House of Cards Espresso, on campus, where members of our society were able to exchange a token for a free beverage. Our event aimed to provide students with the opportunity to connect with each other, while taking a well-deserved break from their study and assignments. The event was moderately well attended, with around 20 members, including students and some university staff, meeting over coffee or tea.
However, due to the increased assignment load towards the end of the semester, the bitter cold, and the slight chance of rain, some of our members were less inclined to venture away from their desks. Perhaps when we hold this event next semester, attendance will be even higher!
Those that attended were grateful for the caffeine hit and enjoyed conversing with fellow students. It was exciting to see new connections being made, and we hope to facilitate more of the same in our future events. Thank you to everyone who attended!
